MATERIALS
We use 92.5% fine silver and 7.5% alloy for strength—the established standard for long-lasting quality. Selected for its luminous finish, resistance to tarnish, and graceful aging, each piece becomes a personal, evolving artifact worn through your day-to-day.
The foundation of all our jewelry is made of 925 sterling silver because it is the rare material that ages with character; as its surface oxidizes and its topography shifts, the piece gains a depth that mirrors the way our own tastes evolve over time.
In the Boy Ozu studio, we don't just build for the present; we select materials that evolve alongside the wearer.

A platinum-group metal 100x rarer than gold.
We use it as a final plating over our sterling silver pieces for a brilliant, mirror-bright finish. Chosen for its extreme hardness and tarnish resistance, rhodium provides a protective, hypoallergenic layer that ensures lasting, luminous wear.
We selected this rare element for those who prefer a sharp, consistent aesthetic that defies the elements. It represents a different kind of evolution: while silver records the passage of time, Rhodium preserves the peak of a design for longer, ensuring the artifact remains as precise as the day it left the studio.

Pronounced Ver-May —the highest standard of gold plating. Each begins with a sterling silver core, layered with a substantial thickness of real 14-karat gold. We selected 14k for its optimal balance: offering a soft, warm hue that aligns with our subtle aesthetic, superior durability for everyday wear, and allows us to maintain integrity within our accessible luxury scope.
While 18k is often perceived as more "prestigious," its purity makes it soft, easily scarred, and prone to rapid wear. 14k utilizes a hardened alloy blend built to handle daily friction without warping. We chose it as our studio standard because it’s objectively tougher—holding its form & plating where higher karats fail.
It is a material that balances luxury with genuine longevity.
